Please join us for the panel discussion Nature in the City: Adding Vitality to Our Urban Environment, taking place at The Building Society on Thursday 30 November.
Everyone wants more nature in our cities, and there are clear benefits for community health and wellbeing; in its broadest definition this includes not just areas of landscape and biodiversity, but also natural light, materials and ventilation. Increasingly forward-thinking developers are integrating nature into their developments and understanding the long term value this brings. But we still often see nature ‘squeezed out’ due to money, space or maintenance concerns. How can we bring nature into the heart of our cities and create an urban environment that is as beautiful as a forest? We will explore this further, looking at design, governance, and the culture of a development.
