Tate + Co is pleased to announce that the Thirsk and Malton Area Planning Committee has granted outline planning consent for the residential development at Whitby Road, Pickering. The development, designed by the Tate + Co team for Keyland Developments, will deliver approximately 150 new homes and contribute to the long-term growth and sustainability of the town.

The approved outline scheme incorporates regenerative design principles that seek to create a healthy, well-connected and nature-rich neighbourhood. Every home will enjoy easy access to green space.

A key feature of the masterplan is the creation of a green corridor. Running through the site, it will improve connectivity for pedestrians, cyclists and wildlife.

In particular, the proposals will enable easy access to a recently completed playground so helping foster greater social connection and inclusion, and encourage more active lifestyles for the younger members of the community.

The development reflects Keyland’s and our combined commitment to designing places that deliver positive environmental and social outcomes, integrating landscape and community infrastructure as critical components of a successful neighbourhood.

This milestone has been achieved through the collaborative efforts of a brilliant project team, including Spawforths, TPM Landscape, 3ADAPT, Andrew Moseley Associates Transport and Development Planning, OEC Consulting Engineers Ltd, SLR Consulting, Brooks Ecological Ltd, Adapt Heritage and Prospect Archaeology Ltd, and the truly visionary client, Keyland Developments.

With outline planning consent now secured, the project moves a significant step closer to delivering a new neighbourhood that will support both people and nature, while providing much-needed homes for the town.
