As part of our programme of education and wider community engagement, a few of the Tate + Co team headed to Rokesly Junior School in North London to take part in a series of Accessible Design Workshops.
The workshops were delivered in partnership with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and a team drawn from leading practices, smaller design studios and individual, independent architects.
We were delighted to be part of that diverse team and our colleagues Harry Baldwin, Rebecca Hall and Nikita Schweizer spent two sessions with students from Year 5 considering a brief focusing on the design of an accessible building for people with a range of needs.
The creative – and fun – sessions sought to enhance pupils’ understanding of architecture, design and technology, and inspire them to think both imaginatively and practically. The photos above are of just some of the excellent models made by the budding young architects and designers.
Thanks to all the students and staff at Rokesly School for welcoming us and hosting such a great series of workshops.
