Tate + Co will be at LREF, the London Real Estate Forum. Taking place on 16 September 2026 at Guildhall City of London, Jerry Tate, Founder + Director here at Tate + Co, and Rebecca Hall, Senior Architect and Passivhaus Designer, will be joining around 2,000 delegates for the annual conference.
This year, the Tate + Co x LREF Roundtable Debate will explore the notion; Rethinking the SME Developer Economy.
Building upon the findings of three national discussions, Tate + Co will be continuing the conversation at LREF, drilling down further into small-site residential development and exploring practical solutions for unlocking SME housing delivery.
The UK’s ambition to significantly increase housing delivery cannot be achieved without a thriving SME development sector. Yet the businesses that delivered around 40% of the nation’s homes in the 1980s now account for less than 10%, reflecting decades of structural change, increasing regulation and growing viability pressures.
Rather than focusing solely on planning reform, our Round Table Debate will examine the wider ecosystem, from land acquisition and procurement to finance, partnerships and placemaking, and consider how existing constraints could be overcome while maintaining high-quality design and sustainable communities
