On Saturday 7th March and Sunday 8th March Jerry joined five (!) expert panel discussions at Grand Designs Live in the Birmingham NEC. The subjects were:
Passivhaus: Self Build, Social housing & Retrofit (with a panel including Kevin McCloud and Kunle Barker) – an explanation of Passivhaus and how it can apply to both new-build and refurbishment through Enerphit.
Is Vehicle to Grid the future of the UK’s Electricity Supply? – a discussion about how we could use the batteries in EV vehicles to help solve the UK’s grid storage challenge.
Retrofit: The key principles (which Jerry chaired) – a discussion about how to retrofit a building to make it more energy efficient and what to prioritise when approaching such projects.
The natural swimming pond – a discussion about how biodiversity and natural swimming can come together in gardens.
Land: Home and away – a discussion about how you can find land for development and different methods for assessing the potential for things like planning permission and construction.
