Plans for the Crystal Palace Park restoration project have been approved.

Led by landscape architects HTA Design, Tate+Co is part of the design team working to deliver the exciting regeneration programme. The wider team also includes Leadenhall Project Management, Crystal Palace Park Trust and the London Borough of Bromley.

The proposals will see the renovation of many of this famous park’s iconic features such as the Grade I* listed Dinosaur sculptures and the Grade II* listed Italian Terraces.

Plans will also see a number of new additions to the 200-acre, Grade II* listed, south London park and our scope of work includes the design and delivery of the new Information Centre.

Conceived to sit comfortably within its surroundings, the sensitive yet contemporary design seeks to deliver a positive contribution to its environment.

The palette of materials, in terms of both colour and texture, references the building’s natural and historic setting and complements the landscaping and existing structures within the park.

A shifting façade will convey the building’s intent and purpose and present an open and extended welcome experience to visitors.

In line with Tate+Co’s commitment to regenerative architecture and sustainable design, the building will reuse the existing concrete foundations and incorporate a raft of natural materials which will weather gracefully and, over time, mellow to deliver visual coherence with the existing, nearby buildings.
