Tate + Co shares news of growth and evolution

To support a number of recent project wins, the London-based architects embarked upon a sustained recruitment drive and has, over the past six months or so, grown its team by just over 30%.  Bolstering design, delivery and operations, Tate + Co has welcomed new colleagues across all areas of the business.

The studio is delighted to report this accelerated growth is in response to new work drawn from all three of the company’s core sectors: Housing, Education and Hospitality & Leisure.

The internal structure of the practice has evolved to support and maintain this increased momentum. The introduction of sector-focused Design Leads and Co-Pilots will enhance specialist sector knowledge and clarify design direction whilst maintaining creative freedom and flexibility across the wider team.

Jerry Tate, Founder and Director, takes the lead in Housing and will be working alongside new recruit Rebecca Hall, Senior Architect and Passivhaus Designer. They are currently exploring the future of small site residential development and will be hosting a debate, Small Site Housing Delivery: Working Together to Unlock the Opportunity, at the London Real Estate Forum taking place later this month.

Laurence Pinnfire, Director, and Nikita Schweizer, Architectural Designer, will be focusing on Hospitality & Leisure, a rapidly growing sector for the practice. The Wildhive Collection Callow Hall, a boutique hotel located on the edge of the Peak District, was recently awarded ‘Hotel of the Year – Independent’ at the prestigious Cateys 2025 Awards.

Nick Pocock Architect, who joined Tate + Co in June this year, and Hannah Pinsent, Architect, will focus on Education, capitalising on an established track record within this sector to deliver learning environments that are thoughtful, functional and future-facing. Hannah is currently leading the design and delivery of Truro Music and Performance Centre. On site, this much-anticipated project is due for completion in early 2026.

Jerry Tate said: “We’re excited to share news of this period of growth and evolution at Tate + Co, as we continue to expand our team, win work across our core sectors and refine our structure to support the practice’s future direction. The talented group of new hires brings fresh energy and ideas to our longstanding team – a core group whose creativity and continuity remain at the heart of our practice.”
