Delivered in collaboration with the design and build contractors Blue Forest, this project created a new function venue, and additional accommodation, at the listed Hothorpe Hall in Leicestershire. Dubbed ‘The Woodlands’ the development was integrated around the existing mature trees in the historic grounds.

The new venue building is a self-contained space providing separate dining, event and bar areas, with professional catering and servicing facilities to the rear, the space is designed to accommodate a range of functions including conferences, exhibitions or a 120 capacity wedding. Arranged around this larger building are a series of smaller lodges which provide an additional 25 hotel bedrooms. All new buildings are timber-framed, timber-clad, low-energy construction, carefully integrated into an enhanced landscape setting.

Tate + Co went above and beyond to ensure that this fantastic design came to fruition. Both design and delivery were handled brilliantly and they were integral to the success of this project. ”

Andrew Bridger, Client Representative of Hothorpe Hall

The project was delivered to a tight timescale and budget, completed in time for a number of pre-booked events, and has proved a great success creating an alternative offer at the Hothorpe Hall site.
